If you are running an offline business and are using your website as additional tool for promoting and selling physical products or providing services, you have probably thought about making the whole process easier for your customers. One way to help your customers and guide them through the buying process is using an Online Live Chat Support on you website.

We, marketers, always seek for ways to please our customers and make them feel they are special. But what managers look for are figures saying increased sales, increased profits. So how can Online Live Chat Support bring me increased sales?

The short answer to this question:

By taking care of your current and potential customers and website visitors by providing them with an exceptional level of customer service you are building the fundamentals for long-term relationships and repeated sales.

The long answer to the question would probably include the broader perspective and would include the question:

Which functionalities in the Live Chat Support Software can help me increase my sales?

1. The basic functionality of chatting with online customers can help you on several levels:

o By allowing you a direct and real opportunity to assist visitors to make their purchase decisions by answering any type of questions and dealing with any concern they might have during their decision process.

o Your website can’t customize your offers to each customer but your employees can! By chatting with customers through your website, they can offer volume discounts, offer not-standardized products or even get orders to produce completely new products and up-sell on various products.

2. The other functionality is the ability to monitor your visitors. By monitoring your customers, you can see how many visitors you have at any time, which product pages are they visiting and how long are they staying on each of them. Using the generated reports from all those data, you can make plans for re-designing your website to make it easier for them to find certain products or information.

For example, if you see that some of your products are very popular, you can put links to them from the home page. Then, if you see that most of your customers view, for example, the ‘red collection?of your products, then you can put the red one as the default picture and know it’s going to benefit you. It’s that easy!

1. Not only can online sales can be increased. You can also use the opportunity to inform visitors about the location of your physical stores of your stores, about special discounts in them or new collections added and thus increase your sales in stores.

2. A very useful tool is the ‘initiate chat?with visitors. Just imagine what will your customer think when you will greet and offer assistance to them when they come to your website? If this effort seems too much, you can see if some of them are staying longer on some page and offer customized support. That way, you build your way to increased sales numbers and higher revenues

3. The last point is the availability of the operators?support by itself. No matter if your visitors want to talk to you, the fact that operator is available provides more credibility and improves the overall picture of your company in the eyes of the visitor. That also leads to increased sales and greater credibility.

Most important point here is that if you look long-term, you can create the ultimate experience for your online customers just by getting data about their journeys through your website and carefully listening to their feedback (from your conversations with them).

So you want to sell online.

So you wanna take the jump and open a online shop?
Scared at the cost or even where to start?

Look no further I can help you set everything easy with out the need of a web designer. How and why you ask are you gonna tell us this when you have your own web design company?

It all started about 3 years ago when a good friend of mine was being ripped of by a media company charging him ?000 + for a web site you could build for less than ?00. I took the site on and vowed I’d never do the same to anyone so I started out and created my own web design company.

It all started about 3 years ago when a good friend of mine was being ripped of by a media company charging him ?000 + for a web site you could build for less than ?00. I took the site on and vowed I’d never do the same to anyone so I started out and created my own web design company.

And 3:16 Designs was born, now you are the first people to know what the 3:16 means from the title of my company and simply put I wanted my company to have numbers in it somewhere and I love the WWE wrestling scene. My favourite wrestler being Stone Cold Steve Austin and his catchphrase is “Austin 3:16 just whooped your a*s” and my company name was created 3:16 Designs.

So I had a name I had a dream time to start building it.

Job 1: Buy your domain name

A good place to get your domain name from is www.123reg.co.uk with prices starting from ?.59 per year on some extensions e.g .uk

Job 2: Get your hosting plan

I use this company for all my hosting needs as they are reasonably priced and the support is good. Hosting-Unlimited.net the basic hosting plan (which is all you need to start with) is ?2.95 a year.

So you now have a company name, an idea, domain name and a years hosting all for less than ?6.00 now lets build you a shop.

Job 3: Build the shop

I have tried many scripts in trying to find an easy to use shop that looks good and has the support to go with it, after trying OS Commerce and Zen Cart I stumbled across a small program called CubeCart now when this script started out it was called E-Store and has progressed into the CubeCart store I use now myself. It is easily installed and simple to use and populate. Whats even better is using a service called fantastico you can install this automatically through your hosting plan in under 10 minutes. CubeCart is owned by a company called Devellion Ltd and run by a very friendly man called Allistar Brookbanks (or Brooky to his friends).

One of the big benefits of using CubeCart is the support and the main reason I stopped using OS Commerce. If you get stuck or want to make a couple of changes you can visit the cubecart forum

here, and post your question. The forum members and moderators (I myself am one of them and can be found in the forum under the name of EvilHomeR) will 9/10 times help and assist you. We will also point you in the right direction and make suggestions to help you on your way. Now the other big part of the forum is the mods for CubeCart, these are snippets of code we have produced to improve CubeCart. There are many mods available free of charge and some are for sale for only a few $$$’s, now trust be paying out $5,$10,$15 or even $20 for a mod may seem a lot to some people but when you consider some web designers charge $20+ for an hours work and buying a mod could save you hours of coding and errors. Trust me I have been there myself and now produce mods for the community.

If your still unsure why not pop into the forum and say hi before you try it you will find a bunch of happy people willing to answer your questions.

To install CubeCart go to your Hosting CPanel and locate the icon called Fantastico and click it, now you will see a list of programs find the E-Commerce section and click on Cubecart this will start the installation process. Just follow the simple steps and answer a couple of questions and that’s it in under 10 minutes your shopped is installed and ready to use.

The shop itself is split into 2 area’s the shop front and admin section. The shop front is the area the customers see’s and admin is your part where you can view your customers, orders etc and add your categories and products. The admin is set up in such a way its easy to navigate and use so there you have it in less than 10 minutes and under ?6.00 you now have an online shop.

We still have 2 more points to cover to finish the set up properly tho and cover the gateway and copyright issues.

Now CubeCart is free to use software as long as you leave all the copyright info intact however if you want a professional looking store I would suggest paying the $69 (app.?0) to remove the copyrights, it justs looks better all round. You can purchase a license here Purchase CubeCart Copyright Removal Key

If you are going to sell online you need what they call a payment gateway to take money online. If you are just starting out I would suggest signing up for a PayPal business account, you can do this here www.paypal.com. The reason I say PayPal is they don’t charge you for set up and its already fully integrated with CubeCart for normal and digital purchases. So again its easy and free to set up you just pay a small fee on any transactions you put through.

So anyway that’s about it all said and down in less than 24 hours and under ?00 you can set up your own E-Commerce shop online and start trading.

So what are you waiting for its time to enter the new digital era and sell online.

What I Have Learnt As A Beginner To Internet Online Business

Like tens of thousands of people who often venture online exploring ways to make a little extra money, I have been looking for ways that would allow me to eventually live a life with residual income and financial freedom.

Like tens of thousands of people who often venture online exploring ways to make a little extra money, I have been looking for ways that would allow me to eventually live a life with residual income and financial freedom.

Obviously, I did not know how except for the fact that many are making millions of dollars every year from Internet.

But I learnt fast, after having paid a lot of money to the so-called Internet gurus. I realised that there were a lot of scams, hyped-up promises, and just plain sure-way-to-loose-your-hard-earned-money programs. Very quickly, it became obvious to me that the promises of make-tons-of-money-with-no-effort-all-for-free had to be challenged because this is not true at all! What you get for nothing would be nothing. I learnt now how I should look every time before I leapt.

Building a business online is just like building a brick-and-mortar business offline. So you need both a good plan and a marketable product. Some friends advised that I should build a website around my personal interest or hobbies because it’d be fun doing so. That way, when the going gets tough, the motivation to persevere would be more likely to prevail. However I found that my own interest and hobbies were not necessarily what the market was looking for. In fact, I realized that I should look at other people’s interest instead.

The easiest way to get into business online is through affiliate programs which allow you to sign up as an affiliate member. You earn a referral commission from selling the program owners?products.

These products are usually information products such as electronic books (eBook) and software that can be delivered as a file that is then downloaded directly to your customers’ computers. They could be repeatedly reproduced and downloaded and sold at no cost. There’s no packing, shipping and delivery cost. Owing to this, affiliate program owners usually pay their affiliates high commissions (50% or more).

I learnt that it is best for beginners to start by joining a few affiliate programs, followed by announcing this to as many friends as possible to prompt them to visit my websites.

At the same time I was strongly advised against the use of “Spam? Suddenly I found my list of friends to be pathetically short! Hardly 100 names!

I was feeling really inadequate after finding that many Internet entrepreneurs actually had a mailing lists of well over 5000, 10,000, 100,000?.

To start off, I needed a website, although people do make money without a website. By joining an affiliate program I did not have to worry about creating a website of my own because many affiliate programs do offer websites for free.

However I was advised to learn how to modify the website to differentiate it from many others having the same program so that I would have some advantages over others.

As I said, I had a miserable mailing list hence I needed to build one for visitors by their subscribing to my online newsletters. Oh yes, I have heard it a thousand times in my short stay in this business ?”The money is in the list…that all important list which begins the flow of “traffic” …No list…No traffic…No traffic…No sales..?

I send these people my regular newsletter via “autoresponder?provided by the program and over time, I hope to develop a relationship with many of the visitors.

A newsletter allows me to share information and resources with my subscribers resulting in a positive rapport, friendship and eventually trust.

There’s a 30-day guide which is really cool. It takes me step by step each day to improve my business incrementally. The tips and tricks given are especially for professional business working from home. It exposes me to many possibilities, among other things, of how to drive traffic to my site. And I find joy in doing so especially in my pyjamas!

The program allows me to join a discussion forum. It is like walking into a big library, the only difference is that this is better because all the members have similar interest i.e. Internet business. This is where I find answers and solutions to my questions and problems. I find active and successful members discussing their latest findings, for instance, the best websites and software to use to improve our businesses. Another advantage in taking part in the discussion is that other members or visitors get to know my website located in my “signature file?

Yes, I also learnt how to place my adverts. Here are some of the things that I’ve looked into:

1) The various locations where I can place an ad such as newsgroups, forums, ezines, and web sites.

2) How to post information to a mailing list or newsgroup for free but using a signature file to promote my websites.

3) How the program helps me to set up autoresponders to take away the chore of responding to visitors manually.

4) How to write articles and submit them to article directories to get free advertisement for life.

5) I’ve created a Blog of my own. It is an excellent way to provide visitors and customers with information at their fingertips, just a click away. I keep it fresh and alive by posting interesting articles on Internet business on a regular basis. The articles in the Blog also offer me free advertisement because each article carries a link to my websites.

In conclusion, if you want to make money on the Internet, it is a real possibility. But please do not expect something for nothing. You need to invest in your effort, time, commitment and at least some financial input. Once you’ve decided, go for it and. ?.DON’T EVER GIVE UP!

The Warning signs of Online Fraud and How to avoid it

The number may seem grim for Web-based commerce. In 2004 in the Unites States alone, computer users logged in more than 207,000 Internet fraud reports to the U.S. Internet Crime Complaint Center. If you look hard at this number, you may be astounded, and a good bit frightened, by the implication. You may ask, “Is it really safe to buy and sell at an online site??

The number may seem grim for Web-based commerce. In 2004 in the Unites States alone, computer users logged in more than 207,000 Internet fraud reports to the U.S. Internet Crime Complaint Center. If you look hard at this number, you may be astounded, and a good bit frightened, by the implication. You may ask, “Is it really safe to buy and sell at an online site??

Put simply, the answer is: yes. The Internet is an incredibly powerful tool for business, so you can’t pass it over just because of a few crooks and conmen-even if they do seem like they’re behind every pop-up window and banner ad. The truth is that you can create opportunity and make more money online than you could lose in fraud.

Better yet, you could lose absolutely nothing if you know the warning signs of fraud and the tricks to avoid danger during your Web-based business dealings.

Whether you’re looking to buy or sell goods online, the first-and the best-way to fight fraud is prevention. There are certain warning signs to watch for, which should set off a chorus of alarms and flashing red lights in your head. Don’t do business with this person! For buyers, these potential warning signs can be when a seller:

?asks you to pay through non-traceable avenues, such as Western Union or MoneyGram, or a third party, or via an overseas address. You should ask yourself-and the seller-why he or she won’t accept payment options that are traceable and convenient for you.

?posts an image on his auction or classified ad that’s obviously from an outside source. Sometimes these images may not even match the type of item, let alone the brand, that the ad features.

?sells a typically expensive item at cut-rate prices, which is a good indicator that it could be counterfeit.

?refuses to provide tracking numbers when you purchase an item. Tracking numbers are another way to trace a valid transaction.

?offers only excuses, instead of help, when your purchased item doesn’t arrive at your doorstep.

If you’re a seller, you ought to be wary of signs of a suspicious buyer, such as when a buyer:

?asks to pay only some of the fee, offering to the pay the rest sometime in the future. This is the old excuse from Popeye’s friend Wimpy, who always could be heard saying, “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.?Wimpy never paid Tuesday.

?sends you a cashier’s check for more money than the agreed price “by mistake.?In this scam, the buyer then asks you to repay him the difference by personal check, wire transfer, or money order-before you find out that the cashier’s check didn’t clear. Believe it or not, this scheme works because cashier’s checks can be cashed before they bounce.

?sends you a cashier’s check for the correct amount of money but then demands a refund, requesting that you repay with your own money. See the scheme above for how this trick works.

These warning signs, of course, are only for a handful of the frauds and scams out there. Conmen are good at what they do, trying to separate you from your money. That’s why it’s best to always follow these golden rules of online commerce whenever buying or selling on an Internet auction or classified site.

Keep your common sense. No matter how good a deal seems, or how much clients say they want to pay, always remember the old adage: “If it sounds too good to be true??
Do your business locally. Try to buy and sell from your neighbors as much as possible. It’s safer, more convenient, and better for your local economy. What’s more, it saves you the trouble of dealing with foreign vendors and buyers. Though they may be legit, dealing with them can be complicated because of different legal systems and customs, which can make any conflict difficult.

Seal the deal with plastic. Paying for items with credit cards, and allowing your customers to charge for purchases, is a great all-around business decision. Under U.S. law, all plastic purchases are protected from fraud and allowed to be disputed in case of problems.

Meet at the middle man. Intermediary services are virtual middle men that protect both buyers and sellers from cyber shysters. Services like Escrow act as a holding pen for both payment and sale items until both the buyer and seller are content. Only then will Escrow finish a transaction.

Purchase with PayPal. As Escrow and credit cards do, PayPal guards against fraud for both buyers and sellers. It’s a secure and reliable way to transfer money over the Internet. No wonder PayPal is the most popular online money transfer service.

As you can see, the odds are actually in your favor when it comes to doing business on online classified or auction sites. The resource of the internet is far too valuable than to be taken away by a few crooks and conmen. It simply comes down to being smart, sensible, and observant whenever buying or selling on the Web. Then again, that’s what all good business is about, whether you’re doing it in a mall or on the information superhighway.

Website Navigation – Some Tips

The navigation scheme you set up for your web site acts as its road map so it needs to be clear, structured and intuitive. No matter how good a site looks or how much useful information it has, if it does not have sensible navigation it will confuse visitors or drive them away. If a person has to look hard to find where they need to go, then they quickly lose focus and that is fatal to your chances of keeping them on site.

navigation, linking, tips

The navigation scheme you set up for your web site acts as its road map so it needs to be clear, structured and intuitive. No matter how good a site looks or how much useful information it has, if it does not have sensible navigation it will confuse visitors or drive them away. If a person has to look hard to find where they need to go, then they quickly lose focus and that is fatal to your chances of keeping them on site.

Navigation (and page titling and headlines) needs to tell visitors immediately:

* Where I am
* What is here
* Where I can go next

There are many ways of presenting navigation: down one side of the screen, along the top and bottom or in a frame. However, think of the search engines, as well as visitors as most search engines don’t like frames or java script – which they can not be understand. As search engines need to read the links to index the site properly and you want good organic listings, java script is not a good idea and anyway some visitors will have it disabled.

So here are some more ‘top tips’:

1: It is important to allow instant access to the rest of your site from anywhere within it. Ideally, you should be able to go to any page in a maximum of two clicks and one is better. Motto: the less clicks the better.

2: Use the same navigation scheme and elements on all pages. Create a common navigational look to ensure that your users can use your site navigation effectively.

3: Wherever possible, use text navigation. Think about the tradeoff between text and graphics. Text based navigation works better than image based navigation because it enables users to understand the link destinations in detail. Too many sites have beautiful and fancy images for navigation that mean nothing to visitors. (Ever been abroad and been confused by their roadside or ‘restroom’ images?) Research also shows that ‘breadcrumb trails’ positioned under the page title (at eye level and closer to other links on the page) are used more than breadcrumb trails positioned at the top of the page.

4: Keep navigation elements (elements meaning different navigation ‘lists’) in close proximity and help users to develop a mental model of your web site.

5: Use the right margin for your web site’s main index. Research shows that users are lazy and click on topics in the right margin more than topics placed on the left because they are located much closer to the scroll bar and they don’t have to move their mouse so far! This allows users to quickly move the pointer between the scroll bar and the index items. These benefits are particularly strong for laptops with those horrid fingertip based mouse controls.

6: Separate important items from housekeeping links. Housekeeping links are the things people may need to find from any page but that don’t need to be prominent. For example Privacy Policy, Site Map, FAQs and Contact Us can appear in the header or footer of the page

7: Make links easy to find. Don’t expect visitors to mouse over every word on the page to discover if it is a link or not. Links don’t have to be underlined, but do make them a different colour so that they stand out from surrounding body text and add a hover colour to links so that users can see what they are about to click. Use new windows (pop ups) sparingly.

Work at Home scams

Work at home has become such a rage with the advent of internet that it has evolved into an industry on its own.

work at home

Work at home has become such a rage with the advent of internet that it has evolved into an industry on its own. As with almost all other industries, this too has been infested with scamsters trying to con you. In fact, this devil is more at work in this industry due to the basic demerits of the functionality. These demerits are actually the merits – no physical presence. The reason the online or work at home industry elevated to this level is because you don’t need to arrive at a particular place called office, and still work can be executed with equal productivity and efficiency. This has been exploited by the conmen to their advantage. Here is a list of things you should keep in mind while trying to enter into the world of work at home.

Don’t pay for the membership or subscription fees at the first glance. You will come across thousands of websites claiming instant work and profits. Remember, it is not so easy when practiced. Secondly, there will be lot of competition for the work on offer. Study and research these sites thoroughly before you invest a single cent on these. Get as much information about the employer before you make any commitment towards spending some money. Genuine employers will never ask for any money for the employment opportunities.

Enter into the forums on work at home. You will come across people from all over the world discussing the idea and problems associated with work at home. Some of them will also be seen complaining about the opportunity they were trapped in. Make a list of such websites about whom there are frequent complaints. It is always better to avoid such scamsters.

Envelope stuffing scheme has been the king of all scams in the history of work at home industry. The scamsters claim that you will be paid for stuffing the envelopes. Apply wisdom here – why a company will pay you one dollar for stuffing one envelope. Similar schemes have evolved with the main principle in place. You will be asked to pay for the membership to start data entry work. Once paid, you will be asked to place the ad of the same site at various places. If you receive X amount of positive responses, then you will be paid Y amount. In reality, such scamsters don’t have any work available for you. They work on the pyramid or gold ring scheme to con more people making you as their front agent.

Why Marijuana Should be Legal

Many Americans feel that Marijuana is helping fund the war on terror, but making a war on drugs and keeping Marijuana illegal has not stopped millions of Americans from smoking pot everyday. So what is the answer?

drugs, society, law, government and society, smoking, health

Many Americans feel that Marijuana is helping fund the war on terror, but making a war on drugs and keeping Marijuana illegal has not stopped millions of Americans from smoking pot everyday. So what is the answer?

First, why is Marijuana illegal? In the 1930’s William Randolph Hearst, who had significant financial interests in the timber industry testified to congress on the evils of marijuana, saying things like it make people insane and commit acts of cannibalism? at this time very few even knew what it was and to stop people from going insane Congress decided to make it illegal.

The truth is many paper manufacturers were thinking of changing from using trees to make paper to using hemp because it was cheaper and easier to grow and better for the environment, and Hearst stood to loose millions so he used his influence and testimony to help get marijuana banned in the USA.

So now that we know why it was made illegal, we can realize that not only would making it legal in the United States stop terrorist from smuggling it into the USA, but would give us another option to cutting down of millions of trees every year for paper products that can be made better from hemp.

Hemp has thousands of uses that we are unable to exploit because of its illegal status.

During WWII hemp was used for the rigging on parachutes as well as rope and material for uniforms.

Nowadays Marijuana can be used to relieve pain and some of the effect of cancer treatments and old age.

It has been proven to slow down the spreading of Alzheimer’s, relieve the pressure behind the eyes from glaucoma. It also helps relieve migraine headaches and the side effect of cancer treatment.

But until the United States realizes how much money can be made from legalizing it, it will remain illegal.

This is much like the situation with online casinos in the USA. America was sending billions of dollars out of the country and the government needed to do something to keep the money here, so they banned Online Casino and just like online casinos and online gambling I believe one day the government will learn to take advantage of these things instead of just banning them.

Eventually the USA will realize that the best way to stop the flow of money out of the country is not to ban marijuana or online casinos, but to enter the market and compete.

If the USA did what Amsterdam has done the government would make not only billions in Taxes from the sales of Marijuana, but the economy would boom from all the tourism that it would bring in from all over the world.

The truth of the matter is that legalization is inevitable. The attitude of people has changed so drastically over the last 30 years, that eventually when the younger generations start to take over marijuana will eventually become legal because they understand the truth, and that is banning something only makes the market for it stronger.

online business, Internet business, make money online

We live in the era of information. Something that characterizes this period of time is that humanity increasingly seeks knowledge. People want to know how to solve their problems. They turn to the internet to find a solution. They read books, attend seminaries, take courses and study to improve and develop their knowledge about certain field or they overall cultural and intellectual skills.

This is the era of the intellectual. One of the best things you can own is intellectual property. People turn to the Internet to find specialized knowledge about specific topics. They are starving for information. Those who can provide them a solution to their problems may capitalize on it and make literally fortunes.

Informational products are in high demand today. Combine that with the fact that shipping, production and distribution costs for these products are virtually nonexisting for these products. Also some intangible goods that are traded on the Internet today are still overpriced compared with their tangible counterparts.

This is because many products are sold based on people’s emotions. They need to pay before they can see what they get. It has being said that selling e-books is one of the most profitable Internet businesses that you can start. You can self publish your e-books and own everything: the copyright, the publishing and most of the royalties.

There have never being a better time to become an author than now. You don’t have to struggle to find a publisher who will accept your books. You can write it, launch it and see what happens all by yourself, within days.

You can also sell software, computer games, courses, seminaries, etc. All information products are welcome on the Online business world. People do not like to get sold. In the other hand, they find occasionally a product that meets their quality standards and promises to solve their problems, so they give it a try.

This happens everyday. Millions of informational products are sold all over the Internet. This is a multi-billion industry. E-books and software are two of the most purchased products online. People spend lots of money on information. The market is still open for new entrepreneurs because thousands of people join the World Wide Web every day.

As you can see this is one of the most profitable products that you can sell. The great thing is that it is also one of the easiest to create. Now, the question is how do you create those products and start cashing in on this multi-billion industry? If you read my other articles you will find detailed information about this topic.
